Consumer Wonderland
November 22nd, 2005

“The designers at Ikea are brilliant. Trap people in a consumer wonderland with
no windows, no floor plans, where you lose all track of time, and place. This is
not a new concept. Department stores have had this philosophy for 50+ years.
Ikea has just taken it to the next level, with meatballs and cheap, shiny metal
objects. Leaving the store, I felt exhausted, overwhelmed and disenfranchised.
But you gotta love buying a great piece of modern furniture that comes in 1,000
pieces for $39.99. I love Ikea. No really, I do.”
