IKEA planned for Rocky Mountain region

“IKEA, one of the world’s largest sellers of furniture and other home goods, is
getting closer to metro Denver.
The retailer plans to build a
310,000-square-foot store on nearly 23 acres in Draper, Utah, just south of Salt
Lake City. The store will be IKEA’s first in the Rocky Mountain region. The
Utah location is scheduled to open in the spring of 2007. It will employ 350
people. IKEA has been quietly scouting for land in the Denver area for the
last few years, and has talked casually with Lone Tree officials about building
one of its yellow and blue stores in that southern metro-area suburb.
The chain especially likes the area near Littleton’s Park Meadows Town
Center mall, which includes Lone Tree and Highlands Ranch, according to retail
real estate sources. That region offers a retailer good access to Interstate
25..”
