“Nov. 14, 2005 — The opening of a new Ikea store has become cause for major
celebration for the retail giant’s devotees across the country, many of whom
drive hours just for the chance to shop at Ikea. Hundreds of people are known to
camp out for days in advance of a new store opening, hoping to get gift
certificate rewards and celebrate all things Ikea.
