“I am wondering if you or your readers have the answers to a couple of questions:
1. Are shoppers still being approached in-store and asked not to take photos? I see so many pictures tagged “ikea” on flickr.com, it just must be that cameras are now ubiquitous that IKEA has stopped approaching everyone. I was always approached and warned in the past.
2. Does IKEA offer any of its logo merchandise for sale? I’m talking about hats/visors, pens, pencils, shirts*/tshirts, backpacks, beach towels or office supplies in general? If not, I can’t figure out why they don’t want their logo plastered on everything that we can buy. *I don’t mean shirts similar to what workers wear.”

We’ll ask IKEA about this – ABF

I took a significant number of photos in IKEA Houston this summer and no coworkers asked me to stop.
This comment isn’t directly related to this blog but I had to make it anyway. I went to IKEA in South London at the weekend. It was packed with 1000s of shoppers and I had to wait 30 mins to pay for my goods. I spent 400GBP and when I handed the check out girl my credit card she said there was a 70p charge! This outraged me in principle having just spent a small fortune in the shop. I understand that IKEA wants to keep its prices low but this chain is making billions of pounds and I really think that the credit card company charge is something they should take on the chin.
From Samantha Gravina, PR for IKEA Chicago:
” I know both Chicago stores allow it, we just like people to let us know that they will be taking them and their use.”
