IKEA Plans Major Expansion

September 27th, 2006

STOCKHOLM, SwedenFurniture-maker
Ikea plans to hire tens of thousands of new workers as the company
continues to expand with dozens of stores opening around the world, the
company’s chief executive officer said in an interview published
yesterday.

“We have to hire at least around 10,000 people a year to meet our
ambition of continued growth,” Anders Dahlvig, CEO of the Ikea Group,
was quoted as saying in Swedish financial daily Dagens Industri.

Ikea’s U.S. headquarters are in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.

I love IKEA, but please built one closer to me!!! I think Cleveland, Ohio would be a great place for one. Around Beachwood Place mall or Legacy Town Center would be great!!!
    Thanks!!

I agree with David. We need an IKEA in Cleveland. Legacy Village would be perfect because all the stores there are suppose to be aimed for people who want home improvement.

We live in Nashville and just drove nearly 5 HOURS to get to Ikea in Atlanta. Crazy. We’ve done it twice in the last 2 years. I had lists from 2 other people. There is a couple of guys here who have built a business on getting Ikea stuff for people in Nashville.

WE NEED AN IKEA IN NASHVILLE! We are a big enough city and would also draw people from Kentucky (Louisville), Memphis, Knoxville and other parts of TN, Alabama.

We are finally getting some other good stores like Wholefoods, Trader Joes, Norstroms, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters…we are missing an IKEA though!

    Thanks!

Does anyone know how to contact the department or the office(of Ikea) that work on photos that sell in Ikea,i think they are so unique and so beautiful , In other word, the person incharge of selecting those photos must be master of artistics .

@Jennifer Jennifer, did you see the recent post about ModerNash? IKEA runs: Need your IKEA fix? Hire a local delivery service.

Might serve your needs until Nashville gets an IKEA! Not that I know anything…

recently moved to Nashville Tn. and couldn’t believe there’s not an Ikea here!! Everyone I work with here at Vanderbildt University are huge fans! Would love to see one here, I believe the demographics would sustain it.
